Cristina Gangemi MA
Ms Gangemi brings many years of experience of project work with people who have disabilities as well as academic research within the field and a personal drive and commitment to the field. For twelve years, Cristina was the disability advisor to the Archdiocese of Southwark.
Her work within the field has facilitated a change of culture from inclusion to belonging; her work has empowered people with disabilities, clergy, diocesan agencies and parish communities to move away from a culture of charity to a model of personhood, respectful care, citizenship and belonging.
Having been the sole advisor on issues of access and inclusion for people with disabilities, during the papal visit to the UK in September 2010, The Kairos Forum is now an advisor to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. She has been at the forefront of the developments that have occurred nationally within the Catholic Church.
